Zoneeditor - CNAME issues
Hi,
we are noticing more and more support tickets concerning the cPanel zoneeditor. Maybe some sort of checks have gone away within the latest updates, because now you can add a CNAME for the root @ zone - which is invalid concerning rfcs. It's also possible to add a CNAME and an A/AAAA record for one unique subdomain/record
Any ETA on this bug? Thx!

Hey there! I don't have a resolution just yet but I did bring that up with our development team and it is on their list for future work. If I hear something on my end I'll be sure to reply to this post.

Hi cPRex,
do you know of any update on this? This happens a lot and is an extra manual work for our customer service. It mostly happens when people are using CNAMEs for pointing to one of the large site builders (wix, jimdo etc). We hoped your dev team would fix it when adding DMARC? etc - but no ...
Maybe it's possible to expendite this, would be great and help a lot.
Thank you!

I don't see any updates yet BUT I have two thoughts on this:
-so far, this thread and one other ticket is the only complaint of this issue happening, so it isn't disruptive enough where it would get priority over other cases right now.
-I do see this was just assigned to a development team this morning, so it sounds like it will be getting addressed soon!

Thank you for the update!

Sure thing! The team took the case literally about 30 minutes ago, so hopefully in the next month or so I'll have some progress to share.

Update - the team has a fix and it's in testing right now. It will get included in a future 126 build, although I don't have a specific version number I can share just yet.

Theems to be fixed with the current 126.0.14 - thank you cPRex for your help on that!
