error: ip doesn’t match non-SSL vhost IP
AnsweredSo I migrated a Cpanel from one server to another. Then fixed all the DNS records to point to the proper new IP address. But when trying to assign a new SSL cert within CPanel I get the above error basically saying the new proper IP addr doesn't match the old wrong IP that is in some sort of Non-SSL vhost.
I can't seem to find any clear steps on how to clear out that old IP address. I dont even know what file to look in. The only place I can even find that old IP address is in WHM / IP Functions / Show/Edit reserved IP's. The old servers IP is listed there, but not "checked". Nothing I do gets rid of it.
Does anyone have any additional ideas on how to get rid of this error when trying to apply an SSL cert?

Hey there! The first thing I would do is scan the site with a tool like intodns.com so you can be 100% sure there are no lingering DNS issues. If there are any public problems (as in, outside of your server) with the DNS or IP address, the AutoSSL system will not be able to issue a certificate.
Can you share the exact error you're seeing with the AutoSSL run so I can see that? You can find that in the logs in WHM >> Manage AutoSSL under the "Logs" tab.

Thank you for that tip. No major issues reported using that site. Back to the error I was getting. This wasn't when I was running AutoSSL (should I be)? I bought an SSL on Godaddy, created it and following the help instructions you 'upload' using cpanel tools, then try to assign it to the domain and thats when I got the error. Which was formatted more like this: ip (new ser IP) doesn’t match non-SSL vhost IP (old server IP).
Seems I was finally able to get a GoDaddy person to help get it installed (after a couple people also failed). So I'm good at this point. It was a weird error for sure.

Ah, so it wasn't an SSL from us.
That's interesting though as I can't come up with a logical reason for that error to show up in the interface as a single cPanel account would only have one IP address. I'm glad they were able to get it working for you though!
