Email over quota rebound
A client reports that an inbox was full and none of the senders who sent emails to them received a bounce that the recipient's inbox was full.
To test this, I created a 1MB inbox and started sending emails with attachments until it was full. I never received the inbox full bounce.
How can I verify that this is working correctly? In Mail Delivery Reports I see the inbox full error but I have not received the bounce.

I think this happens to me because this server is configured "Mailserver Configuration -> Disk Quota Delivery Failure Response -> Defer delivery temporarily.
How long are messages retained for overquota boxes? Can I change this time?0 -
Hey hey! Yes, that defer option would keep the bounce message from being delivered instantly. I wasn't able to find any documentation about this specific setting so I reached out to the email team and I'll let you know when I hear back from them!

I heard back from the team and they let me know this just follows the standard Exim retry times as there isn't a separate configuration for this. You can see those values at the bottom of the Exim configuration file, /etc/exim.conf.
