Manually change IP address?
I am working on a disaster recovery process for my cPanel server. I will restore my ESXi VM and run it under VMware workstation. I would like to know how to manually switch the root IP address the server runs under manually. Because when I restore I cannot just use the same IP address as it may conflict with the real server when I test things. I can change the NIC, but if I can never login to WHM to change the IP for multiple reasons. Where do I do this manually? So all services will function but just on a different IP? Is this possible? I just want to change like x.x.x.5 to x.x.x.6 and have the entire server still work.
Thanks.

Hey there! This isn't an intended function of the cPanel tools - the main IP address is stored in so many places that it isn't practical to do this work. There are no command line or API tools to handle this.
I would recommend setting up the server on a secondary IP address, making sure everything works properly, and then switching the IP using the typical WHM tools.
