Why is cPanel stealing my customers????
Again, cPanel release an add-on "Search Engine Optimization" related to a web pros company making offers to MY CLIENTS ON MY SERVER.
Why does cPanel think it is okay to steal customers from my server. THEY ARE MY CUSTOMERS. I put the time and money into getting them on my server.
Why is cPanel NOT GIVING ME THE OPTION TO MONETIZE THIS NEW FEATURE????
It is auto enabled on all servers and all feature packages without notice!
WTF!

Hey hey! I have a few thoughts on this one, and I do see you also submitted a ticket about this issue as well.
My first thought is that you should likely be a cPanel Partner! I see that you have multiple licenses with us and being a cPanel Partner would allow you to participate in the revenue sharing you mentioned: https://webpros.com/partner-revenue-share-program/
With only individual licenses like what you have you'll have to turn off the feature in WHM >> Feature Manager on each system where you don't want it to appear for your end users.
To me, it sounds like being a Partner would resolve both of these concerns. You'll be getting a reply through the ticket as well, but that's a Customer Service ticket so it's a bit out of my area.
I believe we actually intend to roll back the SEO release as there was an issue found this morning that could affect users. At this point it is still a limited release so not all cPanel systems are even seeing this function. I'm only including that here in case others see this thread and wonder what interface this is.
As far as releasing products, WebPros plans to include all new tools directly in the interface with all future releases, although being a Partner would help you manage those a bit as I mentioned above.

Becoming a partner could help some.
However, cPanel assumes they know how the server is being used. Some cPanel serves intentionally are configured for limited use and not general web hosting where the I idea of having these "features" revealed to end users can create confusion or even prompt more questions about the service than would have been.
It is just bad idea on cPanel to be so presumptuous as to think it is okay to do this.
I hate the way VC companies operate.

Do you have multiple admins?
There should have been a warning which you can either save settings (meaning deploy) or exit and not deploy. It will then say it again at a next login. There is no option to disable it completely from the notification (bad ui behavior)
If you have multiple admins someone might have gotten tired of the popup at every login or accidently pressed save settings.
I do consider it also very intrusive not having a option to disable it from the get go.
We simply put it in the Disable feature list which overrules all other feature listings you made. However this has to be done per server as explained.1 -
Yup, Look like cpanel and web Pros will do what ever they want to do regardless of how it impacts the actual business that they step. At some point all of use who do not agree with the web pros approach to promoting and marketing new acquisitions will be gone and web Pros could care less when we leave.
Its really a sad time.
They are even using this approach with acquisitions WHMCS. All my tools bought by a group that is not looking out me at all.

Mentioned:
-you'd be able to participate in the revenue sharing you mentioned: https://webpros.com/partner-revenue-share-program/
Signed up Monday and no followup...
If this is a legitimate program, I wonder why it's not manned for replies and follow-up?0 -

It has in many previous feature additions, but not in this time.
I found out about this new "feature" when a customer emailed me asking about it.
How awesome is it to have support tickets being generated from something we didn't want in the first place?
NOT cool.
EDIT: In reference to the new SocialBee Social Media Manager feature.

Agreed. That is the main issue.
Server administrators are treated like cattle. Our server, but odd FOR-PROFITsoftware, appears with little to no fanfare, in hopes we don't notice?
Rather bizarre, or poor management, to say the least?0 -
I have to agree that this practice is very annoying. On my hosting site, I offer SEO and now another SEO company has access to my clients. This stuff needs to be opt-in only.

Exactly my point. This drive me nuts.

So the complaint is "you're stealing my customers" and the answer is "pay more money to be further integrated into our system and we'll kick back a little more"....? There have been many poor moves made in cPanel the last few years related to this. Introduction of features and prompts that completely break the trust of the person who's paying for the product. In the rush to try to monetize, cPanel has been stomping on the people that made it popular to start with. It's only a matter of time until it collapses. The only reason it hasn't so far is the combination of difficulty of moving to another provider, combined with lack of any solid options. For many years, cPanel was the light in the darkness. Those days are gone.

I did want to post an update to this as I didn't provide accurate information in my earlier post.
If you are a cPanel Partner *we* can ensure you don't receive the plugin on our side, but there isn't yet a way for *you* to control this through Manage2.
