Webmail Redirects to Roundcube
My email account experiences a persistent Roundcube login redirect loop, while other accounts on the same cPanel server work as normal. I can log in successfully on the webmail login screen, but it immediately redirects to the blue roundcube login screen. From then on it is not possible to proceed with the login. Here's a summary of what I've observed so far:
-
Endless redirects to Roundcube login screen
-
"Invalid credentials" errors despite correct passwords
-
Authentication failures in logs (
LOGIN DENIED -- TOO MANY FAILURES
) -
Missing/deleted Roundcube database (
roundcubemail
not found in MySQL)
- Steps Taken So Far
Permission & Ownership Fixes -
-
Result: Fixed mailbox access but login issues persisted.
I've also tried Dovecot Cache & Index Repair -
-
Result: Emails became accessible via IMAP, but webmail login still failed.
Database Recovery
-
Hit MySQL permission errors when creating users.
This is a very frustrating issue. Any help is much appreciated. Thank you.

Hey there! Have you tried rebuilding the Roundcube database with the /usr/local/cpanel/bin/update-roundcube-db command as outlined here?
https://docs.cpanel.net/knowledge-base/email/how-to-rebuild-the-roundcube-database/
Do you have root access to the server or just access to your one cPanel account?

Thanks cPRex for chimming in.
I just followed through with your suggestion to rebuild the Roundcube db. I also updated Roundcube. From the logs, here's what happened:
-
The update process ran successfully (
update-roundcube-sqlite-db
). -
No schema changes were needed (
All schema already applied. Nothing to do...
). -
Old backups were cleaned up (
Removing old backup
). -
New backups were created (
Roundcube DB successfully archived
). -
Roundcube is already at the latest version (
Roundcube updated to 1.6.9.0.110-1.cp110~el7
).
Unfortunately, the issue persists. Log in to the email account is impossible as it keeps redirecting to the Roundcube login screen, which is impassable even when the correct login credentials are added - see this https://prnt.sc/cKVrNoxJ0BL9
Yes, I have root access to the server

It would be best to create a ticket at this point as you've already performed very thorough troubleshooting on this issue.

Thank you, I appreciate it. Any pointers on ticket submission? I can only see 'submit request' which I believe is not specifically referring to tickets.

You can do this through WHM >> Create a Support Ticket. Depending on where your license was purchased it will either direct you to us or to your license provider.
