Hey there!  It's up to you, but a lot of users have updated.  I'd see if there are any features you need in the new version and then decide based on that, and I'm sure other users will share their feedback as well.

I don't know about new features but we're running CP on Alma 9 for several months just fine.

But that was from a fresh installation.

Well it appears i am on my own for the upgrade other than asking on here.  I spoke to my VPS host about doing the upgrade for me since they probably do it every day.  They said they would upgrade it for free but their solution is to make a backup and then wipe the server and install a fresh copy of almalinux 9.  That means that everything i have done to config my server and harden it over the last year will all have to be redone.  What a freaken joke my VPS host is, that really ticked me off.

So when i do this i will follow the cpanel guide and ask on here if i run into any challenges. Not sure when this will be maybe next week or next month.  :)

durangod - that's unfortunately common in VPS environments, as the parent system may not support ELevate tools or in-place upgrades even if your specific instance does.

If they said not to try it, I wouldn't.

They never mentioned Elevate at all, so i dont know if it will or not.  But i guess since i am not ready to wipe the whole thing and start over and its not worth the risk to try Elevate and it fails, i will just wait till next year sometime.

Question:  is there a way to remove the elevate notice from the security advisor results since it most likely wont work in my situation?

    Thanks :)
