Hey there!  I'm not seeing any issues with Freenom at this time - are you able to contact them through their sire?

I can access their site and I've sent a message (or "ticket") to them about the problem yesterday but so far no reply and my website is still gone.

I've tried to access it with my WIN SCP which I use for updates but it can't acces the site either.

I've seen comments on Reddit about Freenom having different legal and/or financial problems but some of them are dated as far back as 2023 and I actually made an update to the site about six weeks ago and accessed it two weeks ago so obviously the Freenom service did exist then.

Unfortunately there isn't anything I can do on my end for this issue.  Hopefully their team replies and is able to help get that access restored.

    Thanks for reply.
I was contacting you in this issue because if i'm correct, my website is (or was) located at your server so I thought that it would be possible for you to help out.

What I have to do now is to find a new host and a new domain for my site.

I don't expect any help from Freenom since I haven't got any reply for three days and it looks like they more and less have closed the shop.

Another problem is that I've paid for the domain up to 2029 and I want my money back.

It's all very frustrating because this will be the fourth time i must move my site due to unserious actions from web hosts. In 2014 I thought that I finally had found a great place for it at Freenom. But that was obviously a mistake! :(

While your machine likely uses our software, cPanel doesn't actually host any websites so I don't have any access to your machine or account.  That is all controlled by your host or datacenter.

I remember having some problems with the site some years ago and I was told that it was in some way connected to you which is the reason why I have contacted you about this, just to see if there was a possibility that the site still was intact.

Since Freenom don't answer my posts and I'm not aware of any other datacenter, I have no options.

Can you recommend any good and honest webhosts where I don't have to be a millionaire to buy a domain?

To whom should I turn if I want my money back? I have paid for the domain up to 2029.

I'm not able to make any specific recommendations on my end as to which host you should use.  If you paid them for the domain they would be your only recourse for a refund.

Which they won't do since they no longer exist.

And I have to start looking all over the world again for new, dishonest web hosts who can cheat me.

Oh, they look sooo good when you access their sites, but as soon as you have paid them and put up the site again, the problems start.
