Slow Load Times on First Load
I have a brand new cPanel server that we only use for our company websites.
There is one site that gets steady usage during business hours and a few public sites that get spasmodic use 24/7 but the load is never high.
Generally speaking, the pages load like lightening and I've never seen the CPU usage exceed 10%.
But the first time you hit a site, it can take 10 - 20 seconds to load. After that, it's super fast. But if you come back in a few hours, it can (but not always) be slow again.
This even occurs at times like early Sunday morning when the load is almost nil.
It feels like a DNS problem to me, but we've thoroughly examined the DNS set up and can't see any misconfigurations.
It's not a PHP or MySQL problem because it even happens on a static HTML page that I made that just says "Hello World"
So that leaves Apache as the likely culprit.
I've experimented with Apache settings like Minimum Spare Servers etc. But it made no difference, so I've returned them to the cPanel defaults.
Has anyone ever seen this type of problem before and/or does anyone have any suggestions on how to address it?

Hey there! A caching tool of some sort, like Nginx, would likely resolve the issue, but it wouldn't explain the root of the problem. It would likely be best to work with an admin, either us or your hosting provider through a ticket, so this could be investigated in real-time on the system, as this type of issue usually doesn't work well for troubleshooting through the Forum.

I think I've identified the problem and it is DNS-related.
But I wanted to get some ideas on other possibilities just in case I'd overlooked something.
