Email storage shows data when account is totally empty

I've had this issue for some time now.  Seven of my 22 email accounts show storage when everything is completely empty.  I cannot get this system to reflect that actual usage for these accounts which is zero. Nada.  No emails.  There are no messages in spam, junk, archive, inbox, sent, drafts.

  Hey there!  What does this command show when run on the affected account?

  du -h --max-depth 1 /home/username/mail/domain.com

  Does that show similar disk usage for the 7 accounts?

  I'm seeing ALL account showing data when running that command - i.e., none of them report no data.

  Yet, in the cpanel gui only 7 show data whereas the rest of them (despite showing data in the command line command) show no data/emails. 

  Does that answer your question?  What else can I do to clarify this?

  It might be best to recalculate the quota as outlined here:

  https://support.cpanel.net/hc/en-us/articles/1500007877701-cPanel-user-mail-quota-is-large-even-though-there-is-no-email-in-that-mailbox

  if that doesn't do the trick, it's probably time for a ticket.
