Question about CAA

Hello,
I'm setting up a subdomain to send newsletters via Brevo. The main domain is already certified with Letsencrypt. I understand that if I don't specify a CAA record, all certification authorities apply. But if Brevo requires a different CA than Letsencrypt, can I simply add a CAA record specifying that specific CA ? Also, do I have to create a separate zone for the subdomain, or can I add everything to main zone ?

  CAA record for the domain applies to sub-domains: https://support.dnsimple.com/articles/caa-record/  If you don't have a CAA record, there is nothing to do, as it will be allowed to be issued.

  What ffeingol said - you don't *have* to have a CAA record at all.
