    Hello BassTeQ ,

You have to set up DNS records at cloudflare exactly as they were in cPanel.

Also, use "DNS Only" (gray cloud) for initial testing if needed

Don't forget to point A records to your existing server IP.

Regarding SSL certificate, if you're enabled cloudflare proxy, then it'll use cloudflare SSL.

But If keeping server SSL, ensure your server certificate is valid and includes the domain.

    Hello, thanks for the reply!

Initially I wont use Cloudflare Proxy, so with that option disabled, if a domain certificate would need renewing the cPanel cert process would use something like webroot validation as opposed to DNS, is that correct?

    Cheers

I've imported the rescords into Cloudflare, I see it also imported the current NS records, should these be removed, or updated? They still point to the existsing (non cloudflare) DNS.
Note, I've not yet made any changes at the registrar.

    Thanks

To keep things consistent you would want to update those to reflect the current nameservers in use.

    Thanks!

I've attempted to edit it, but got an error
Content for NS record is invalid. NS records at the apex must not overwrite assigned nameservers.

So am I right in thinking these records can be removed, as the registrar the domain is registered with will configure the NS records assigned by cloudflare
    Eg.
    happy.ns.cloudflare.com
    funny.ns.cloudflare.com
