Outbound Emails Failing Due to Blank “From” Header in WHM Server
Hi everyone,
I’m facing an issue where my WHM server is unable to send outgoing emails. All mails sent from the server are getting rejected by Gmail and some other providers due to a missing “From” header.
Below is an example of the bounce message:

Subject: [server.example.com] New account: dummyuser (dummyuser.shop)
As you can see, the “From” field is completely empty, and because of this Gmail rejects the message.
Server details (all dummy):
Hostname: server.example.com
cPanel/WHM Version: 130.0.16
Exim version: 4.98.2
I’ve checked the Exim configuration, but I can’t figure out why system-generated messages are missing the “From” header. This issue affects Security Advisor alerts, cron emails, and other automated notifications.
If anyone has faced this or knows how to fix the missing From header in WHM/Exim, please guide me.
Thanks in advance!

Hey there! We only reply to forums post during weekdays so I wouldn't have seen this over the weekend.
I haven't had this complaint from any other users, and my personal notifications definitely include the"from" field for the automated server messages. Does the same problem also happen with a normal email sent from a user's email account in Roundcube?
Have you made any customizations to Exim on this machine that could explain this? In the WHM >> Exim Configuration Manager page there is a "reset" option if you'd like to try that just to see if that changes the behavior in any way.

I'm currently on 130.0.15 and looking to apply the 130.0.16 update. However, this post got my attention as we use Exim to send emails and have made several customisations to the configuration. Currently our mail works flawlessly but this makes me nervous. Can you confirm if the update includes any Exim related changes? I understand that you're not aware of any other users having problems but it would be good to have some reassurance about the scope of this update.

alanstar - you can always check the changelog for each version here:
https://docs.cpanel.net/changelogs/130-change-log/
There is nothing related to email in 130.0.16

Thank you for the reassurance, I proceeded with the update and have not seen any issues.
