Hey hey!  I'm afraid I'm not going to have a good explanation for this one, as there's no reason an SSL certificate should behave differently just because the user is in different locations.

    1. What is the proper way to add certificate for a domain?

    2. Do we need to add certificate for sub domain too?

    3. Does all certificate expire after 1 year?

    4. How do we ensure that it auto renews?

    Thank you

I will answer these questions assuming that you aren't using AutoSSL built in to cPanel, because if you were, all of those questions would be taken care of for you as we handle all of these things automatically.

1 - You would use the WHM >> Install an SSL Certificate on a Domain page to add this.  You can also use the "Manage SSL Hosts" page as the cPanel user: https://docs.cpanel.net/whm/ssl-tls/manage-ssl-hosts/

2 - The best answer to this is "it depends" - if you want it to be secured, then yes, but many SSL certificates cover multiple domains.  You'd need to find out which type of SSL you purchased to see if it will cover multiple domains.

3 - This also depends on the issuer.  cPanel issues SSL certificates for 90 days but some providers issue them for up to one year.  There will also be new standards soon that will limit certificates to 47 days.

4 - Externally installed SSL certificates will never auto renew, and will have to be manually reinstalled by the server admin.
