Cpanel invalid login when copy paste
It seems this may be an old issue, not sure.
When i copy and paste my password when logging into cpanel, it will fail until i press the delete key. That tells me that cpanel input field is either adding a space at the end of the password or it is not trimming the end of the password. I copy paste my password on all my other sites and it works fine, its just cpanel that has an issue with it.
On a positive note this might be good because it could be another layer of protection by accident lol
However, according to this (webmain not cpanel)
https://support.cpanel.net/hc/en-us/community/posts/33493935715607-Whitespace-during-webmail-login
seems cpanel uses a space as a valid password character. Why? I have never heard of this before in any coding practice. Seems to me this would cause more issues than it solves.
So to further explain the issue.
When cpanel login page loads, i enter my username and then i move the cursor down to the password field, i copy my password and then paste it in the field.
This will not allow me to click the login button. Hovering over the login button i see the prohibited icon (circle backslash).
Next i touch nothing on the page (cursor is still in the password field), i just simply press the delete key 1x on keyboard and now it will let me log in.
Is this intentional or a bug?
Thanks :)

Hey hey! Could you let me know where you're copying the password from? I copy and paste passwords into cPanel all the time and haven't run into this issue.

Hi, from notepad

I don't have a good explanation for this behavior as that's also what I use to manage all my personal accounts. If you could create a video showing the process and then submit that in a ticket that would be the most helpful thing to move forward, but I can confirm there isn't a general issue when copy pasting passwords.

Ok just fyi here is the video, you will see that i hover the button several times. You will see that i return to the password field and that is when i press del 1x, then the button is active and i get the finger pointer.

Oh I wasn't saying I don't believe you, I'm just saying I can't reproduce.
Have you tried another browser? This seems to have some customizations applied, like a dark mode, so I'm wondering if a clean browser would resolve the issue?

Hi, i never thought that for a sec man.. :) I was just showning to share. :)
Yeah first time i recorded it, i did so without the dark mode add on but i forgot to remove my domain name from the recording so i had to do it over and then i forgot to turn off the dark mode lol I figured what the heck its doing it both ways... :) I also tried chrome and FF and same.
You think it might be something with namecheap, they dont mod that code do they, i would not think so.
I just had a thought, it could be that the js or form process is not seeing any value there on paste, it thinks the field is still blank. When i press del key it wakes up and sees the value. That is very possible, used to happen in the old days with html 1 and early js :)

What if you tried the copy paste from a different application? Still the same thing?
