Emails account missing or possibly deleted by itself
Some emails account from a specific mailbox appear to be missing or were deleted without any admin action. The messages were previously received but are no longer visible in the Email Accounts in cPanel Tools. This issue does not affect all email accounts.
We would like to verify if on server-side logs, email filters, quota, and any automated cleanup or retention processes to identify whether the emails account were deleted impacted by system actions. If there is some backup availability for possible restoration should also be checked.

Hey there! If you have root access to the server you could check /var/log/maillog to see if there was any action related to that email account that you weren't expecting to happen. Backups would also be configured by the root user on the machine in WHM >> Backup Configuration.
If you only have cPanel account access you would need to speak with your hosting provider and they would be able to check both the logs and the backup options for you.

Hey cPRex! Thanks for your prompt response. It seems that log do not record email account deletion. So, I tried to look at /usr/local/cpanel/logs/error_log and access_log but without success. Also, I looked at Backup Configuration, however I was not able to identify anything related to email restore. Do you recommend anything else?

There wouldn't be anything in that Backup Configuration page about restoring email, but it would tell you how the backups are configured and where they are stored so you could see what you have available.

Got it. Unfortunately, backup remains only for last 2 weeks. Still wondering how email account disappeared by itself. Thanks!

Unfortunately I don't have any information on why that may have happened if you're not finding much in the logs. If you'd like to submit a ticket this could be investigated directly on the server.
