elevate frankensteined my system
AnsweredOver a month ago I upgraded a server running an old version of cPanel on an old version of CentOS (7.9). I made a snapshot and went to work, following on screen prompts and stories from people who tried this before me. It took awhile but I got the server upgraded to AlmaLinux 9.7 and the latest version of cPanel, with eLevate (first to alma 8.10, followed by 9.7), and all seems fine.
Now however, we noticed notifications that apparently cPhulkd was down, which it wasn't. It was throwing error messages though.
After a long investigation (since I'm quite new to cPanel) I figured out that despite cPane's eLevate not everything was updated. Seeing as how there was a column USER in the table known_netblocks, I wanted to see if I could force an update of cphulkd.
No matter what I tried, I couldn't get it to work. Dropping the sqlite database and starting over didn't work, the user column got created again./usr/local/cpanel/scripts/find_and_fix_rpm_issues couldn't find any issues, /usr/local/cpanel/scripts/check_cpanel_pkgs --download-only --targets=cphulk followed by /usr/local/cpanel/scripts/check_cpanel_pkgs --fix --targets=cphulk took about 1 second to execute.
/usr/local/cpanel/scripts/upcp --force took 21 minutes, but changed nothing about cphulkd, despite seeing

If someone has a good idea, I'd love to hear it.

Hey there! That indicates that updates and cPHulk are working well - are you still receiving notifications that cPHulk isn't working properly? If so, do you see anything in the main cPanel log at /usr/local/cpanel/logs/error_log or the log specific to cPHulk at /usr/local/cpanel/logs/cphulkd.log?

Not in /usr/local/cpanel/logs/error_log, but in cphulkd_errors.log I see many
Internal Failure (state:authed login_service:dovecot): Failed to connect to dbprocess socket at /usr/local/cpanel/Cpanel/Hulkd/Processor.pm line 1441.
...propagated at /usr/local/cpanel/Cpanel/Hulkd/Processor.pm line 184.And security center does list cphulkd as disabled. When I turn it on cphulkd.log.filetail.state lists

Thanks for that information. Unfortunately I'm not finding details about this error on my side so it would likely be best to create a ticket so this can be investigated directly on your machine.

This issue has been fixed through support.

Could you share specifically what the fix was, or the ticket number so I can see that?

The ticket# was 95980216

Thanks for that - it looks like running
/usr/local/cpanel/bin/hulkdsetuprebuilt the configuration and resolved the issue.

Yeah, although it didn't the first 5 times I tried it. The definition of insanity...
