Hey hey!  You're exactly correct - we're tracking that recent upstream issue with MySQL not providing the correct data in the repo and either us or MySQL should have that resolved quickly.

We have the same issue too.... what's the fix ETA ? This is an emergency for us.

Tried the fixes listed but still not fixed. log shows:

Invalid MySQL server downgrade: Cannot downgrade from 90700 to 80409. Downgrade is only permitted between patch releases.

Update - April 23 - The details in the support article are correct, and it also appears that MySQL has resolved the upstream issue with their repositories. That doesn't help you if the damage has already happened to your server, but at this point we have a few options:

-we've released an autofixer to help prevent users from receiving the update, which went out last night
-the support article has copy/pastable steps to resolve the issue if your server experienced the upgrade
-if you have *any* doubts at all, feel free to submit a ticket.

For us, the support article caused loads of errors, in the end a Cpanel tech got mysql 9  working and said we should continue from step 10 of 24 !  again.

No thanks, we will keep myql 9 running until were sure things have settled down.

    Added # versionlock add mysql-community-*

We sent a ticket, and cPanel support said they will not touch the server for policy reasons.

"Unfortunately, cPanel/WHM policy forbids us from handling data-related issues that could result in data loss."

So, please ask that technician to create a tutorial on how to make version 9.7 work.

    From Cpanel tech:

Although MySQL 9 is running, you may still experience issues with the service as it is not supported on cPanel, so the downgrade is recommended.

Daniel Bazaes - do you have a ticket number?  I've been told if customers directly submit a ticket with us, which is dependent on their license type, we're going to go the extra mile and try to get these issues resolved.

I wonder if you tried that right at the time the mirrors were getting fixed.  I'd run the classic combo of

    yum clean all
    yum makecache

and then try that work again.

Daniel Bazaes - can you check things now?  Our team checked your server just now and things seem to be working as expected.  If you're *not* seeing that, can you reply to the ticket with specifics on the current situation?
