WHM Fatal Error After Removing CSF – LFD & cPHulk Not Working

Hi everyone,

I’m facing a critical issue on my WHM/cPanel (v134) server and would really appreciate your advice.

I installed CSF, after which LFD was automatically disabled and cPHulk Brute Force protection also stopped working. Due to this, I uninstalled CSF. However, after removal, I’m now unable to properly access WHM, the interface fails to load and shows the error:

“A fatal error or timeout occurred while processing this directive.”

This server is in a production environment, so the situation is urgent.

Has anyone experienced this before or knows how to fix it? Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

  Hey there!  I'm a bit confused as LFD is part of the CSF tool, so it seems odd that LFD would be *disabled* after CSF is installed, since they are the same piece of software.

  Is it possible that your server's ports just aren't opened in the firewall, which was changed when you removed CSF?  A quick test would be to telnet to port 2087 or 2083 and see if you get a response from the machine.

  Another option would be to reinstall CSF and see if that gets your access working.

  Can you try that test, and potentially the reinstall, and let me know how that goes?
