Is there currently any issue with Apple clients and SMTP?

Hey hey!  A majority of us use Apple products internally and I haven't heard this issue internally or externally at this point.

What do you see in the Exim log for that particular message?  Checking there (/var/log/exim_mainlog) is the first place I'd look as that should tell you exactly what is happening with this message transaction.

That's the odd thing, in the log it looked perfectly normal. No error or anything. But the mail was stuck in the outgoing folder of the client for hours, even though it went through on the first attempt. The client IP wasn't blacklisted either, or restricted in another way. The client had to remove the mail because it remained stuck, and then another email from the same account to the same recipient then worked instantly.

That happened about a week ago with another client who also uses Apple (identified with "smtpclient.apple" in the exim log), so I wondered if there is something going on.

I don't have a good explanation for that one, especially if there was nothing obvious in the Exim logs.
