Duplicate Emails Received from Google Workspace Senders
UPDATE on June 5, 2026:
Now it is not only for Workspace but for all Gmail.
Only Solution at the moment: Disable this Exim setting: "Introduce a delay into the SMTP transaction for unknown hosts and messages detected as spam."
** ABOVE SOLUTION WAS ALSO NOT SUCCESSFUL, SOME EMAILS STILL COMING AS DUPLICATES. **
Initial Problem posted on June 4, 2026:
Since the past two days, my cPanel email accounts have been receiving duplicate copies of the same email.
To investigate the issue, I tested email delivery using Proton Mail, Gmail, Yahoo Mail, and Google Workspace accounts. I noticed that the problem only occurs with emails sent from Gmail or Google Workspace accounts.
When a Gmail user sends an email to my cPanel email account, I receive two or sometimes three copies of the same message in my inbox.
Could you please advise on the possible cause of this issue and how it can be resolved?
I'm using AlmaLinux 8 VPS with cPanel Version 134.0.35

Another post has been published, and cPRex replied with the following:
Hey everyone! We're tracking this as part of case CPANEL-53742 where it seems the SMTP delay value of "Introduce a delay into the SMTP transaction for unknown hosts and messages detected as spam” being enabled causes this. I'll be sure to post an update if I hear anything on my end as we're not yet sure if this is a change from our side or Gmail.

Please remember, your OS and cPanel version doesn't matter at this seems to be a change on the Gmail side of things, so it unrelated to cPanel.
That doesn't mean that we won't be able to fix it or come up with a workaround, but this issue isn't caused by a chance we made on our end.
