Way to backup only WHM configuration when using JetBackup for account backups
Hello,
I am currently using JetBackup to handle all my cPanel account backups (including files, databases, emails, cron jobs, etc.). This part is working well.
However, I want to separately backup WHM configuration (such as hosting packages, feature lists, tweak settings, PHP settings, backup configuration, etc.). My concern is that if I ever need to reinstall WHM/cPanel in the future, I will have to manually reconfigure everything from scratch.
I checked the built-in WHM → Backup → Backup Configuration feature, but I’m not fully clear whether it is meant for backing up WHM settings or if it also handles account-level data.
Since JetBackup is already taking care of full account backups, I only need a lightweight solution to backup and restore WHM-level configuration only.
Questions:
- What is the recommended way to backup only WHM configuration in this scenario?
- Is the native WHM Backup Configuration feature the right tool for this, or is there a better approach?
Any guidance would be appreciated.
Thank you.

Hey there! You can use the WHM >> Backup Configuration tools alongside Jet Backup as they can both run independently.
The tool you likely want is the System Backup settings available under the WHM >> Backup Configuration tool: https://docs.cpanel.net/knowledge-base/backup/system-backups/
Let me know if you need more details on that!
