cPanel updating when it's not supposed to
Is cPanel going behind administrator's backs and re-enabling SECURITY_UPDATES in /etc/cpupdate.conf?
I know I explicitly set this to never for all of my servers. But what am I finding now? All of my servers updated to 11.126.0.77.
Not happy right now.

Hey there! On June 24 we released cPanel 136.0.25 which included change CPANEL-53412, which added the hourly Security update section to WHM >> Update Preferences. This option is set regardless of the status of updates on that page or in /etc/cpupdate.conf.
You can toggle this new option to "off" if you don't want to receive these instant updates. This isn't an old setting that you would have set previously as it has only existed for two weeks.

No, SECURITY_UPDATES was very much set to never, but the update happened anyway.

If you did indeed adjust that value to "never" within the last two weeks, there are no automated process that I know of that would overwrite that. It would be best to create a ticket so this can be investigated directly on your system.
