csf blocking IP due to apple-touch-icon-precomposed.png
Hi,
some Apple users have been getting their IP blocked by CSF.
The reason shown is:
Log entries:
[2026-08-05 19:45:17 +1000] info [cpaneld] xx.xx.xx.xx - - "GET /apple-touch-icon-precomposed.png HTTP/1.1" FAILED LOGIN cpaneld: login attempt without username
[2026-08-05 19:45:20 +1000] info [webmaild] xx.xx.xx.xx - - "GET /apple-touch-icon.png HTTP/1.1" FAILED LOGIN webmaild: login attempt without username
[2026-08-05 19:45:27 +1000] info [webmaild] xx.xx.xx.xx - - "GET /apple-touch-icon-precomposed.png HTTP/1.1" FAILED LOGIN webmaild: login attempt without username
[2026-08-05 19:45:33 +1000] info [webmaild] xx.xx.xx.xx - - "GET /apple-touch-icon-precomposed.png HTTP/1.1" FAILED LOGIN webmaild: login attempt without username
[2026-08-05 19:45:54 +1000] info [webmaild] xx.xx.xx.xx - - "GET /apple-touch-icon-precomposed.png HTTP/1.1" FAILED LOGIN webmaild: login attempt without username
Aside from whitelisting their IP, is there a better solution/workaround to this issue?

Hey there! I don't think the icon file is the reason the users are getting blocked - that just happens to be the last thing showing up in the log. Note that it gives the same error for cpaneld and webmaild, which wouldn't be what serves that icon to the user.
My only recommendation would be to whitelist the users specific IP address. If you know that request is coming from a valid user that shouldn't be an issue.
