cPanel re-enables automatic security updates against our will
Hi support,
A few weeks ago cPanel added the checkbox:
Automatically apply security updates as soon as they are available.
Which is problematic for us, because it has applied updates at very inconvenient times. We manage our updates manually, always after business office hours and when a sysadmin is available.
The problem is:
No matter how many times we turn those updates off, they keep turning back on!!!
Editing the /etc/cpupdate.conf file directly and set "SECURITY_UPDATES=never" doesn't work either. Automatic updates turn back on after a while.
How can we permanently turn off automatic security updates?
Many thanks
Jorge

Hey there! This is a known issue we're tracking as part of case CPANEL-55380. It should get resolved as part of the next major release.

It looks like I spoke too soon! This was actually fixed in version 136.0.33, which was released last Thursday. Can you check your cPanel version and confirm you're on the latest update?
