Installing engima plugin in Roundcube

We want to offer pgp security in Roundcube, but the Enigma plugin fails due to path name issues (App error 600: Enigma plugin: Keys directory doesn't exist: /var/cpanel/roundcube/storage/enigma/), even though the path exists and owns and perms are correct. From our research, it seems that cPanel has changed what needs to be done to install the plugin. There doesn't seem to be any resource (including this support portal) that properly explains how to do it.

We are starting to lose customers because we can't offer end-to-end encryption in Roundcube. Please provide some information regarding how to install the enigma plugin.

  Hey there!  Unfortunately there isn't a supported way to install plugins in Roundcube at this time as the area where they need to be installed has been customized.  Details on this can be found here:

  Yes, please. Although it would be so much fun to create our own RPM to be able to install a function that should be available out of the box, we will probably not do that.

  I reached out to the team about this and they confirmed there are no plans to support Roundcube plugins either at this time or in the future, so this isn't something we're going to change.

  The best option would likely be for us to support an entirely separate mail client.  I know there's some research going on related to this, but I have no idea when or if that will end up happening.

  Thanks for the effort.

  There are already Roundcube plugins that are installed and supported. Why would any serious technician decide to NOT install a security plugin? I hope that isn't the normal philosophy with the rest of the team. We have many customers with sensitive client communications and they are making it clear that if we can't provide email security, they'll be looking elsewhere.
