No... mine is showing the latest Stable (and Release) build as being 136.0.36
    Update Cache causing problems, maybe?

Same issue here. My datacenter configure its own mirror a few days ago and it has not synchronized correctly.

    Check /etc/cpsources.conf

If it exists, you can temporarily rename it.

Yep.   That is what it ended up being, MinervaH

My datacenter is Liquidweb, and i specifically have a Storm server with CL9.  and they confessed that they set it to use their own mirror because they weren't liking the fact that machines were getting cPanel updates overnight and then having issues.

Interestingly, I have some friends who probably run a dozen baremetal CL8 servers at LW, and LW did not change anything with their server.   And I have a baremetal CL8 server at LW, and they didn't change it.

The only server that seems to have been changed was a CL9 Storm Server.

So I'm not sure if Liquidweb is doing this only to CL9+ servers, or only to Storm Servers, or if they plan on switching all of them to use their own mirror without telling clients.

My concern is critical security releases by cPanel -- I don't know if they will happen in a timely fashion with my datacenter being the damned mirror. I'm waiting for a response from them.

I'm glad to hear it wasn't us!  It would be good to know how the hourly security update systems get handled when using their own mirror, and hopefully they'll be able to answer that one for you.

The did not answer that question for me.  I asked it and it was kind of skipped over.   They said that they confirmed that the way I changed things to use the cPanel mirror (renaming /etc/cpsources.conf) was fine, and that they respected and understood why I wished to use the cPanel mirror given my concerns regarding timely targeted security updates being installed.

I had a long day.  I left it at that and closed the ticket.

I do not think they were doing this on all of their servers though.   I'm aware of about 12 LW CL8 bare metal servers that never had anything changed.   The only server I have access to that was changed was an LW Storm Server (Xen VM) running CL9.   So I can only guess they were either doing this for CL9 boxes, or more likely things that run on their Storm platform.

At any rate, I'm back to using the cPanel mirror.  Everything updated fine and pretty immediately.
