Comet Backup

comet_license_registration_sync fires every second via a cron job:

CROND[24132]: (root) CMD (/usr/local/cpanel/scripts/comet_license_registration_sync >/dev/null 2>&1)

I don't have Comet.

It's not listed as an option in WHM.
It's not listed as an additional backup destination: WHM → Backup → Additional Destinations

So why is there a cron firing every second and is it necessary to be so frequent?*

This cron should only exist if Comet is installed. 
Request it be removed. Else can we remove the cron or will it just reappear in the next cPanel update?

* discovered the cron when investigating why monitoring service reported an outage and was checking logs for a reason (not that I think comet caused it - at least I hope not, just a nuisance to see so many comet entries).
