You also need to add the IP of the debian server to the remote Mysql Hosts either in the account cpanel where the database is, or in WHM to cover the entire server.

You'll probably need to contact your hosting provider where you get the reseller account. Nothing in cPanel normally would revert your site back to a backup repeatedly like that.

There really isn't a way to do that. The problem is with the DNS, not so much a cPanel limitation.
