You would need to replicate those records exactly if your DNS is hosted elsewhere. You might want to think about running your own nameservers as it will make your life a lot easier once it's set up.

cPanel does not have this built in, however, you can switch your OS to CloudLinux to add this functionality.

Is this a really big account? The timeout is probably being forced on the receiving end, so you may want to increase the timeout settings on that end.
