Database server restart failed: timeout (196 seconds) reached!

Question

The database server is down and cannot be restarted and the following is displayed when checking the status. 


/scripts/restartsrv_mysql --status
Restart failed: timeout (196 seconds) reached! at /usr/local/cpanel/Cpanel/RestartSrv/Lock.pm line 37. 

How do we bring the database server back online?

Answer

Rebooting the server will allow the database server to start.
