How to force TLS over FTP via WHM

Introduction

FTP by default is disabled for security reasons on cPanel servers. Once enabled, information can be transmitted insecurely. To force the use of SSL/TLS, the configuration file needs to be updated via WHM or the command line.

Procedure

1. Log into WHM as the 'root' user.
2. Navigate to "Home / Service Configuration / FTP Server Configuration."
3. Adjust the "TLS Encryption Support" option to the desired "Required" setting.
4. Click the "Save" button.
