What version of MySQL is installed with cPanel by default?
Answer
On legacy versions of cPanel, the default installed version of MySQL is determined by the operating system:
- For CentOS and CloudLinux 7, MySQL 5.7 is the default.
- For CloudLinux, AlmaLinux, and Rocky Linux 8/9, MySQL 8 is the default.
- For Ubuntu 20 and 22, MySQL 8 is the default.
On cPanel LTS version v110 and forward, the default installation is MySQL 8.
