Why is the Live Transfer feature missing from the Transfer Tool?

Answer

The Live Transfer feature is disabled and unavailable in the following situations:

- The destination server's hostname does not resolve

In order to fix this you can run the /usr/local/cpanel/scripts/ensure_hostname_resolves script, or use WHM’s Change Hostname interface (WHM >> Home >> Networking Setup >> Change Hostname) to fix your hostname resolution.

- The source server is not a cPanel server

Both the source and destination server must be cPanel servers for Live Transfer to be available. For example, when transferring from Plesk or DirectAdmin, the Live Transfer feature is not available.

- One of either the destination or source server is cPanel version 88 or older

Both the destination and source server must be at least version 90 or newer to make use of the Live Transfer feature.
