cPanel installation failure: 'The background process “EA4 Install” failed with a fatal error: The subprocess reported error number 127 when it ended.'

Symptoms

The cPanel installation fails and provides output similar to the following.

Description

The cPanel installer will fail if it cannot create the is_ea4 touch file or generate the EA4.repo file. When this occurs, EA4 deployment must be performed manually.

Workaround

If this is the only error during the installation, there may have been issues connecting to the Easy Apache 4 repositories at the time of installation.  You can manually initiate the installation of Easy Apache 4 again with the following command: 

/scripts/ea4_fresh_install

If there are other errors during the installation, further investigation is needed to find the root cause.
