Question
When the server was setup, it automatically added nameservers such as ns1.1-2-3-4.cprapid.com. However, these do not appear to resolve. Am I able to use these as nameservers for my domains?
Answer
When setting up a cPanel server, if there is no valid hostname set, the system automatically generates one using the cprapid.com domain. This is done to help ensure that the server is able to obtain a free SSL for the hostname. The system will also generate placeholder nameservers based on that hostname. These nameservers can not be used, however, as they will not resolve or point back to your server.
Both the hostname and these nameservers are meant as placeholders and should be replaced with ones using a domain that you control the DNS for. More information about this can be found in our documentation here: Automatically-Issued Hostnames
