Introduction
cPanel releases four major versions per year, the first of which is that year's LTS (Long-Term Support) version. We understand that some administrators prefer time between updates, or have automatic updates disabled to avoid introducing new features/functionality without internal testing. It's important to understand that EOL versions of cPanel no longer receive updates, including security and bug fixes, and may include defects that have already been fixed in newer versions.
Procedure
Each WHM page displays the current version of cPanel & WHM installed on the system in the top header, labeled "cPanel Version."
You can also retrieve the current version via the command-line:
/usr/local/cpanel/cpanel -V
To determine or change your current update tier, navigate to "WHM / Server Configuration / Update Preferences" or review the "CPANEL" value in "/etc/cpupdate.conf"
When a release of cPanel & WHM no longer exists in any tier and reaches End of Life (EOL), it becomes unsupported. Unsupported versions don’t receive security updates or bug fixes.
