There are two separate services that provide Let’s Encrypt SSL certificates:
- The FleetSSL cPanel plugin (formerly Let’s Encrypt for cPanel). This is a third-party plugin that provides access to Let’s Encrypt for cPanel users through the cPanel interface. This plugin is available at https://applications.cpanel.net, but is not affiliated with cPanel.
- The free and officially supported AutoSSL - Let’s Encrypt provider. This is discussed on our blog here: Announcing cPanel’s Official Let’s Encrypt™ Plugin
We also have documentation on the officially supported plugin here:
We highly recommend removing the FleetSSL cPanel plugin in favor of the AutoSSL - Let’s Encrypt provider, as there have been numerous reported issues using the FleetSSL plugin. Furthermore, due to it being a third-party plugin, we are limited in our ability to provide support for it.
The developers of the FleetSSL plugin include uninstallation instructions for the plugin here:
Installation of the officially supported AutoSSL - Let's Encrypt provider can be completed by performing the following command:
/usr/local/cpanel/scripts/install_lets_encrypt_autossl_provider
