Introduction
The default update settings for a cPanel installation are usually controlled with the "Update Preferences" interface in WHM. However, there are situations where a greater level of control might be required. In such cases, editing the /etc/cpupdate.conf
file provides the desired level of control.
Procedure
- Access the server's command line as the 'root' user via SSH or "Terminal" in WHM.
- Open the
/etc/cpupdate.conf
in your preferred text editor. - Adjust the values as desired.
It is strongly recommended to avoid setting theRPMUP
andUPDATE
options to eithernever
ormanual
values. - Save the changes and exit the text editor.
