How to disable a ModSecurity rule

Introduction

Sometimes, ModSecurity rules have undesired effects. ModSecurity Vendors rules cannot be edited to mitigate these effects, but they can be disabled. This article provides the steps to disable ModSecurity rules.

Procedure

1. Login to WHM as the 'root' user.
2. Navigate to "Home / Security Center / ModSecurity Tools."
3. Click the pencil icon in the "Rule ID" column next to the rule you want to disable.
4. De-select the  "Enable Rule" option.
5. Click the "Save" button.
