I'm restoring an account or using the transfer tool, and it looks like it's stuck or not doing anything. How can I check this?

We have a guide on how you can check on the status of a running process and how you can trace it to see a verbose output of what exact system calls the process is making. If the transfer, rsync, or restore process is accessing files and you see activity, there is a good chance that the process needs more time to complete. Mail takes considerably longer to transfer or restore because it can sometimes be hundreds of thousands of tiny files.
