How to turn off Event Scheduler in MySQL 8

Introduction

Starting in MySQL version 8, the Event Scheduler is enabled by default:

Procedure

To turn off the Event Scheduler, modify the /etc/my.cnf file and place the following under the [mysqld] section:

event_scheduler=off

Afterward, restart the MySQL service:

/scripts/restartsrv_mysql
