Question
Why did my wildcard SSL not get installed on a new subdomain?
Answer
When adding new subdomains, an existing wildcard SSL certificate is automatically installed on each subdomain if a valid and signed SSL certificate is found in the SSL storage manager.
However, the SSL will not be installed if the subdomain contains aliases, parked domains, or additional domains that are not part of the wildcard SSL domains. Instead, if AutoSSL is enabled, a new certificate request will be created for the new domains.
If you wish to manually install the wildcard SSL on each subdomain, you may use "WHM / Install an SSL Certificate on a Domain" or "cPanel / SSL/TLS / Manage SSL Sites."
Note: It is best to allow AutoSSL to resolve domain SSL issues when possible.
