Will cPanel automatically set the default key type to ECDSA when running LiteSpeed?

Answer

In version 92 of cPanel & WHM, we released support for ECDSA keys for SSL/TLS certificates. cPanel will not automatically set the default key type to ECDSA on servers running Litespeed.

On servers running Litespeed, administrators can optionally change the default key type from RSA to ECDSA in WHM >> SSL/TLS >> SSL/TLS Configuration or in WHM >> Server Configuration >> Tweak Settings >> Security, to support Microsoft® Internet Explorer 11 and Windows® 8.1 users.

cPanel users can select a preferred key type in cPanel >> Security >> SSL/TLS if they do not wish to use the configured default key type.
