Question

What are some of the networking requirements for cPanel?

 

Answer

       Requirement             
Hostname  

A FQDN is required as a hostname.
IP Addresses
  • At least 1 IPv4 address
  • A default gateway address which will be used by our licensing servers
  • If the server is behind a NAT setup, a 1:1 NAT configuration is requried.
  • You can't use an IP address that is dynamically assigned.
Network Manager Network Manager must be disabled.
Firewalls

Ethernet Device An ethernet device with a static IP and a fully-qualified hostname is required.

Please note that on systems running AlmaLinux 9, Rocky Linux 9, or CloudLinux 9 operating systems, the cPanel & WHM installer does not disable the Network Manager service. You do not need to disable Network Manager on these systems.
