Question
Is it possible to move the CageFS Skeleton (/usr/share/cagefs-skeleton) to another location in case of concerns about disk space?
Answer
Yes, it is possible to move the CageFS Skeleton to another location. However, for the safest possible solution, we suggest following the official steps provided by CloudLinux themselves.
Please Note: If you place the cagefs skeleton in the /home directory on cPanel servers, you must configure the following option in cPanel WHM. Without changing this option, cPanel will create new accounts in incorrect places:
- Log into WHM as "root" and navigate to: "Server Configuration / Basic WebHost Manager® Setup / Basic Config"
- Find the "Additional home directories" setting
- Change the value to blank (not default "Home") and save changes
Then, to move the CageFS-Skeleton, you can follow CloudLinux's instructions here:
