Why do I receive a two-factor authentication prompt when accessing cPanel from WHM?

With recent changes to Two-Factor Authentication (2026-06-02 - cPanel/WHM version 134.0.35), this is expected behavior, as outlined in our change logs.

Fixed CPANEL-53684: Resolved an issue where root accounts with 2FA enabled could enter an infinite authentication loop when accessing cPanel accounts. Note: a single 2FA verification prompt when logging into a cPanel account from WHM is expected and required.

To access cPanel, the two-factor authentication prompt will need to be completed.
