Question
How long does it take AutoSSL to issue and install an SSL?
Answer
The default provider Sectigo, can issue an SSL certificate as soon as a few minutes or take up to 48 hours to issue. Provider LetsEncrypt usually issues a certificate in a few minutes or less.
Note: Certain factors may cause longer wait times for provider Sectigo. Under some conditions, these certificates may require up to 48 hours to process. If time is of the essence, it may be best to try the provider LetEncrypt.
The system automatically checks the provider to determine if pending certificates are available or issued. AutoSSL can only install pending SSL certificates after the SSL provider has issued the SSL certificate.
See the following documentation URLs for more details on the AutoSSL providers.
The below command can poll for an SSL manually if you need to determine if a pending certificate has been issued with the Sectigo provider and is ready for installation.
/usr/local/cpanel/bin/autossl_check_cpstore_queue --force
Note: In many instances, the provider LetsEncrypt can issue certificates much sooner than the provider Sectigo.
