Is your public email address a real account ? Does it have it's own mailbox, or is it just a rule. If it has it's own mailbox, then you should be abl;e to get it to what you want by using 'deliver to'

No its not a real acount. Its an account in cpanel to the domain name that forwards to other actual email accounts. But teh spam is deleted before its forwarded. Cheers

I'm by no means an expert on this, but I'm guessing that's because it has no where to go. If you were to create an actual account for the public email, you could then create a few filter rules. One filter to forward the emails you need, to go to where you want them redirected/forwarded to. and another filter to send anything you don't need, to go to spam. Create a dummy account to play with for testing purposes. Just a thought.

I'm not exactly clear on what you are doing. You have forwarders set up... where are those forwarders sending mail? To an email account on the same web hosting account? Or to an external email account (like gmail, hotmail, or yahoo)?

Hi @terryp Because you're forwarding mail, it's accepted in the local mailbox first then forwarded on to the recipient box, this means that any spam checking that would be done would be done on acceptance to the initial recipient. Any sort of filtering that would work on normal inbound mail should work for your purposes, SpamAssassin as well as mail filters. I'd suggest checking out the following: How to Create a Spam Email Filter - cPanel Knowledge Base - cPanel Documentation Spam Filters - Version 76 Documentation - cPanel Documentation
