Lock an E-mail Account from Being Deleted
I've been requested by an organization I both host and work with to give their office administrator access to the account's cPanel. However, I have an e-mail account on that server and I don't want it to get accidentally deleted. Is there a way from cPanel, WHM or from the shell to lock the ability to edit my particular e-mail address to safeguard it? Ideally, the administrator would be able to add and delete other e-mail accounts, but not mine. I tried searching for a solution, but I'm not quite sure how to phrase what I'm trying to do other than to say I only want root to be able to delete my e-mail account.

I think there is no such specific option in the cPanel/WHM if you find one please let me know as well! I would suggest taking an incremental backup of the mails. Thank you :) 0 -
Ooh, that's a good one. I'm not sure this is possible, unless there's a work around, I thought I'd figured a way I created a test account, then changed the folder permssions to root. A test email from Gmail hit my server, but never landed in the mailbox (i've no idea where it went). From the user cpanel, I then removed the email account, and whilst the account dissapeared from the list, the mail folder was still intact. I then changed the permissions back, but the email account then re-appeared in Cpanel. Whilst I've personally no use for this feature, I'd be interested to learn if it's possible. 0 -
Currently there is not a way to restrict an email account from being deleted by the cPanel user. When a user has access to cPanel, they should be able to control all the options available in the interface. We are working on the following feature that would add limited sub-users to the cPanel login: 0
